Thank you to all who donated during The Great Give! Thanks to your support, we beat our goal!
Dear friends and supporters,
For 35 years, The Connecticut Gay Men’s Chorus has served as a standard-bearer for a powerful and accomplished mix of high-caliber performance, community activism, empowerment, and inclusiveness, establishing it as an icon among Connecticut’s LGBT organizations. Throughout those years, we’ve weathered many ups and downs – artistically, financially, etc. – but this past year has been a monumental challenge, one like we’ve never experienced before. Without being able to hold our monthly fundraiser, the beloved Bingomania, we have relied on public and private support more than any other time in our long history. We are inspired by your generosity, grateful for your support of our virtual events, and encouraged by the good wishes you’ve shared with us.
The CT Gay Men’s Chorus’s greatest outlet is to sing in the face of such adversity – which we have not been able to do for over a year now due to Covid-19. We’ve managed to keep the group alive remotely, and it’s been a joy to see how we’ve been able to adapt creatively to these extenuating circumstances. Our virtual performances have been well-received, and we plan to make more, but we long to be able to sing again in front of you. But before that wonderful moment happens - when we’re able finally to sing for you in person - we’re going to need your help.
As a long-awaited return to in-person activities draws nearer, the Great Give 2021 is our final outreach to you to sustain the CTGMC before reopening. Please consider making a donation to the CTGMC during the Great Give, May 4-5 (early giving begins Friday, April 23, 2021). If you feel moved to take an active role in our effort, please go to our Great Give 2021 page (www.thegreatgive.org/organizations/ctgmc) to find out about peer-to-peer fundraising opportunities.
With your help, we can ensure that we may continue to sing for you for another 35 years!

Four of our singers have created this incredible tribute. We're very proud to share their message.
"To the black community, we love you. We wanted to use our talent and our voices to keep the message of the protests alive and to remind everyone of the ones we've lost and the reason we continue to march. Say their names." - The Connecticut Gay Men's Chorus
Featuring (L-R): James Hampton, Aaron Scott, Marcus Tart, and Cecil Carter

Connecticut Gay Men's Chorus - No Turnin' Back!
Founded in 1986,
the Connecticut Gay Men’s Chorus was the first organization of its kind in Connecticut and is a proud to be a part of LGBT history.
The chorus continues to inspire other arts-based community organizations around New England. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Greg McMahan, the CTGMC is proud to maintain its high level of performance standards while maintaining its signature blend of humor and personality.
The CTGMC performs at, as well as supports, an ever-increasing number of community outreach organizations to raise funds and awareness of a variety of social and LGBT programs.
We aim to portray the very best of the gay community in an authentic way. And, to further our mission of building bridges between the gay community and the community at large, we now welcome men of all orientations to join us in song and fellowship.
Thanks to our successful monthly fundraiser Bingomania and our family of donors and sponsors, we are not only committed to keeping our ticket prices affordable, but we are able to set aside 10% of our tickets to offer to LGBT youth, AIDS outreach, and other social outreach programs at no cost.
The CTGMC is unique in that we are both a choral arts organization and a social change agent.
For over 35 years, the Connecticut Gay Men’s Chorus is proud to have been a standard bearer for a powerful mix of performance, community activism, empowerment and inclusiveness, establishing it as an icon among Connecticut’s LGBTQ organizations.
